Travel Program for the 3 Days Uganda Big Five Safari

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

After a wonderful night’s sleep and delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will be briefed by our company representative and guide before being taken by a safari land cruiser to the beautiful Murchison Falls National Park.

You’ll spend about 7-8 hours on the road, and this comes with a rhino tracking tour at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and a traditional Ugandan lunch at one of the best eateries. Take in views of sweeping savannah plains, roadside markets and banana plantations before getting ushered into Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Spend about 2-3 hours tracking one of the big five animals (the southern white Rhinoceros) in the wild with accompanying views of birds and other animals especially warthogs, waterbucks and Uganda Kobs among others. Have lunch at Amuka Safari Lodge and continue to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the evening and settling in at the Safari Lodge.

Activities of the day: Rhino tracking and possibly top of the falls walk.

Day 2: Game drive & boat ride to bottom of falls.

After a sumptuous breakfast, we set off early morning for a 3-4 hours’ safari game drive through Murchison Falls National Park. This Protected Area contains over 80 mammal species, some of which especially lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda Kobs, Olive baboons, bushbucks, vervet monkeys, elephants, buffaloes, Topis and hartebeests. Most of these will most likely be spotted during this 3-4 hours’ drive.

You will come across different ecosystems and landscapes, which you will be occasionally photographing. After this adventure, return to the Lodge for a well-deserved lunch and relax while waiting for the next activity.

Our next activity is a boat ride and therefore we drive to Paraa jetty for briefing and later set out for another adventure to discover why Uganda is the Pearl of Africa. Spend 2 hours cruising along the Nile towards bottom of the falls with endless views of animals like hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes as well as birds. You will end with a boat ride amidst beautiful sunset views before getting back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
