Our 6 Days Chimpanzee Habituation and Gorilla Habituation Safari is currently one of Uganda’s top safari experiences enabling visitors to explore the forest primates. Chimpanzee habituation in Uganda gives you a full day with the Chimpanzees in Kibale. Take on the Mountain gorilla habituation, this takes up to four hours. 6 Days Chimpanzee Habituation and Gorilla Habituation begins and ends in Entebbe/ Kampala

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport

Our driver-guide will well come to the Pearl of Africa as you arrive at Entebbe Airport, he will brief you about your 8 Days Murchison, Kibale & Gorilla Trekking and then he will transfer you to the hotel for relaxation as you repair for the next day activity.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park (Travel Time +5hrs)

Leave Entebbe after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and the thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for an outstanding cultural visit.

Day 3: Kibale Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

Today is dedicated to the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Start the day with a morning early breakfast – a packed lunch and you are off before dawn breaks into the forest. You meet your guide and you are off to where the chimpanzees built nests the night before. Dawn is just breaking and the chimpanzee community you are going to be with the rest of the day is rising from their sleep in the nests.

Your day will be full, your camera will fill up with quality pictures of the chimpanzees and you will get to learn to identify them as individuals by their markings, sometimes scars, and other unique features that make them stand apart from rest. Besides everything described there are the most colorful butterflies, plants, and trees that will amaze you –the setting is simply awesome.

Day 4: Kibale – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Travel Time +5hrs)

Today’s drive is through what is probably East Africa’s most spectacular scenery, the highland rain forests which reach the volcanoes in which live the mountain gorillas to Bwindi Rushaga via the beautiful scenery of the tea plantations. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds.

Day 5: Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Experience

Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots, etc. Join the researcher and guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, meet the gorillas for up to 4 hours perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The Habituation experience will take a day but it’s well worth the effort.

Day 6: Bwindi Forest – Kampala/Entebbe (Travel Time +8hrs)

After your morning breakfast, drive back to Kampala using Mbarara Masaka highway Make the first stopover for a lunch break, proceed to the Equator crossing before driving to Kampala where you will be dropped off at a place or hotel of your choice or at Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.

6 Days Uganda Chimpanzee & Gorilla Habituation Safari package includes;

  • Transportation by 4 WD safari vehicles, Fuel expenses

Excluded in the 6 Day Chimpanzee & Gorilla Habituation are:

Local and international flights, airport transfers, Accommodation in Kampala (day prior to safari departure and on return from the safari), Visa Fees, drinks, cigarettes, tips, souvenirs, and any other items of personal nature.
