This 5 Days Uganda primates safari takes you the place with the highest population of chimpanzees in East Africa that is kibale forest national park and the place with a unique natural setting that Bwindi impenetrable forest mostly known for gorilla trekking adventure. You will also visit the batwa pygmies in their new communities.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, drive south westward with stop at the equator to take photos then proceed to Mbarara town for lunch. Drive through the rolling terraced hills of the beautiful country side to the Switzerland of Africa towards Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park. The forest is a birders paradise, spot over 350 bird species in the forest canopy hooting their sweet songs making the forest amazing with sweet and different sounds. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa excursion
After an early breakfast and briefing from the park rangers, you will set off to trek mountain gorillas. Spend an hour observing the gorillas while taking pictures and videos. In the evening you will visit the batwa pygmies in their new communities after being evicted from the Forest and their life style changed. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast you will transfer to Kibale forest National Park, a place famous for chimpanzees tracking and habituation experience via Ishasha sector, the south of Queen Elizabeth national park the only place known for tree climbing `lions. Continue with the drive to Fort portal town have a hot lunch at Gardens restaurant and drive to kibale, arrive in the evening and relax at the lodge, later dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swampy walk
Early after breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the chimpanzees and also the Park rules. Rally behind the park ranger as you walk in search for the chimpanzees. You will see a variety of bird species as well as monkey species. You will spend an hour observing the chimpanzees in their natural setting as you take photographs and videos. Retire at your lodge for lunch and in the evening, head for nature walk to Bigodi swamp to spot wild chimpanzees, monkeys and a variety of bird species. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive back to Kampala. Enjoy the interesting route well dotted with tea plantation and green forest canopies with a stopover at Mubende for lunch, arrive in the afternoon and continue with the drive to Entebbe international airport to catch your flight back home.
