Program for the 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari from Kigali
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depending on your pickup point which could possibly be Kigali International Airport or any hotel of residence within Kigali city, our company driver guide will pick up, briefs you on your 3 days program then embark on journey to Bwindi Impenetrable national park Africa’s preferred destination for mountain gorillas trekking experience.
You will drive through the rolling hills of the land of a thousand hills and cross over to the Pearl of Africa through either Katuna or cyanika border post. Proceed with our journey to our reserved lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking expedition from the Bwindi Forest
You will wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters for briefing that starts at exactly 7:00am. The briefing involves guidelines on how to conduct yourself while in the forest and how to behave once you locate a gorilla family. The time required to locate an assigned gorilla family is unpredictable as it depends on where the gorillas last fed the previous day.
As per our experience, you will locate the gorillas at least 2 hours from the time you start tracking and then be allowed to spend 1 hour with the mountain gorillas while watching them, observing their behaviours, taking pictures and making video recordings.
After your successful gorilla tracking experience, go for a gorilla graduation ceremony where you will receive your tracking certificate, then have lunch and proceed to your hotel for relaxation.
Later in the evening, you may opt for a community visit to wind up your day. Other optional activity include driving to either Lake Bunyonyi Africa’s second deepest lake or Lake Mutanda for a canoe ride.
Day 3: Drive back to Kigali for drop off
After breakfast, check out of our lodge and drive back Kigali for city tour by visiting the genocide memorial grounds, Kyamata cultural centre, among others. We shall end the day by having lunch and later on drop off at Kigali International Airport or your preferred hotel of residence.
